mp3: Spirit Spine - Flashes

I first posted Bloomington one-man-band Spirit Spine’s “Slept Away” off his newest album Jungle Bridges a few weeks ago. Now, this second single is making its way around the web. It’s heavy on the Person Pitch again, and again I’m perfectly okay with it.

The best news here really is that you can finally purchase the entire album, digitally for now, from online marketplaces like amazon, emusic, and itunes.

Joesph also put the entire album up for free streaming, because he’s that nice of a guy. You can preview the whole album here.

And of course, if you haven’t yet, you can still download his EP Surfhunter for free here.

Video: Panda Bear - Daily Routine [Live 1.15.10 in Berlin]

Live video of Panda Bear doing a trippy one-man rendition of Daily Routine complete with projection screen. Peep the crazy sounding guitar work at the end. It gets me all sorts of excited for new material from Mr. Lennox.

mp3: Spirit Spine - Slept Away

My introduction to Bloomington’s one-man band Spirit Spine came this week in the form of a friend request (remember those?) with the tagline “Panda Bear + Dan Deacon + MGMT= Spirit Spine”

Anyone who feels comfortable enough to make such an audacious claim warrents a listen in my books. After a sampling of his material, I have to admit that he’s not far off.

Spirit Spine’s latest release, Jungle Bridges, is due out later this month. You can preview some tracks from it, scoop up a free EP entitled Surfhunter, and order some older material off of his myspace.

Here’s the third track from the forthcoming album, “Slept Away.”

And, to his credit, he’s right. You can certainly hear plenty of Panda Bear in it, which is never really that bad of a thing to be honest.
